Start the reading journey with Lift-off
Lift-off launches young learners onto their reading journey by developing
essential early language skills. The books explore the aspects of Letters and
Sounds Phase 1 so they are an ideal foundation for phonics teaching. Use
as part of the Rocket Phonics First Steps programme or on their own as an
introductory reading series for ages 3–4.
Our Reception teacher is very
enthusiastic about the wordless and
the 昀椀rst words books, and she has had
a positive reaction from volunteer
parents too. Many of the books link with
things the classes are doing which helps
with vocabulary.

Develop early vocabulary and communication skills through paired
wordless 昀椀ction and non-昀椀ction at Lilac band. Young learners will
be encouraged to retell stories in their own words while learning the
technical skills of handling and navigating a book.
